I nuked the OpenSolaris partition in favor of FreeBSD. OpenSolaris never felt right. I’ll wait a while for OpenSolaris to mature a little more before making another attempt. In the meantime, I’ve got FreeBSD to play with. Unlike my brief experience with OpenSolaris, I was able to set up the dvorak layout. That alone makes FreeBSD a lot better than OpenSolaris. ⊗

Okay, I solved my problem with logging into OpenSolaris. However, I can’t figure out how to set my keyboard layout to dvorak. Seems like Sun didn’t integrate the Gnome control for changing the keyboard layout. In Slackware, I’d edit the xorg.conf file, but where in the world is xorg.conf in OpenSolaris? Hopefully, my friend, Google, will help me. ⊗
A few things annoyed me about my first experience with OpenSolaris: lack of dvorak layout setup during installation, no automatic GRUB entry for my Slackware installation, and the inability to enter a password on re-login after the initial login to the GUI. ⊗
